Among the myths that seem to appear routinely is that writing a book is producing fantastic art. And like great art, it streams wonderfully from the muse to the artist in an organic waterfall of words.
Competition in the kids's book market is as intense and as competitive and any other market. A previously unpublished author is going to have simply as challenging time with this category just like mysteries, thrillers or any other. And due to the fact that children's books are much shorter and simpler, it is harder to compose something truly unique, something that will stand out from the crowd. Does the world really require another book about a duck and a bunny?
